Florida Stuns the Nation as They Defeat Unbeaten Ohio State in the BCS Championship Game

The Ohio State Buckeyes were the heavy favorites going into the national Bowl Championship Series game, which was sponsored by Tostitos. From the opening kickoff when Ohio State returned the first kick off of the game for a touchdown in the first 16 seconds of regulation, it looked like Ohio State would run away with this game.

However, in the first half, the Ohio State offense was anemic, having only 61 total yards of offense. Heisman winner Troy Smith got intercepted by the strong Florida Gator secondary and later in the end of the second quarter got stripped of the ball deep in his own territory and the Florida Gators recovered the ball.

The Gators made a huge stop on 4th and 1 in the first half when Ohio State went for it on their own 30-yard line to jump-start their offense, which was doing poorly in the first half of the game. Even the Florida gators kicker who made only 4 out of 13 field goal kicks the entire year looked good, hitting his 2 field goal kicks in the first half. At the end of the first half, the Florida Gators were leading 34-14.

The Florida Gators defense was even better in the second half as they completely shut out the Ohio State offense. The Florida Gators offense kept rolling and were helped by the presence of their quarterback/running back Tivio who had one running touchdown and one passing touchdown.

The Florida defense was simply amazing as they sacked Troy Smith for 5 times and gave the Heisman winner absolutely no time at all to throw the ball. Florida Coach Urban Meyer called a great game plan. More spectacular was the fact that he led Florida to a national championship only one year after leaving Utah as the coach. Quarterback Chris Leak had one of his best games of the season and the crowd gave him a standing ovation as he left the field.

Going into this game there was speculation that Ohio State might be rusty since their last game played was 51 days ago. However, Ohio State coach Jim Tressel made no excuses as he gave all the credit to the Florida defense and offense, which dominated both sides of the ball. At the end of the day, Florida was simply the better team.

The final score of the game was 41-14. Florida won only their second national championship in the last 100 years. Their only other national championship win came against Florida State in 1999.

This article is so full of errors it's ridiculous.

Tebow is the name of the backup QB for the Gators.
Meyer won it 2 years after leaving Utah.
And we won our first national championship in Jan. of 97 against FSU (for the 1996 season)

You shouldn't call this a news article when your facts are utterly wrong.
