Florida's Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

Christopher Blydenburgh
We've known Florida for its numerous theme parks and tourist attractions. People around the world love to visit this place especially the city of Orlando. Tourists often visit the Walt Disney World Resort, spend a day tour at Sea World and witness its lovely marine delights. Amusement parks in Orlando are said to be among the best in world. For those who have tasted the goodness of Orlando but are still craving to get another sumptuous tour around Florida, then Tampa is the best choice. Tampa, Florida's capital, is home to a truly special theme park, which is Busch Gardens Africa.

The other name for Busch Gardens Africa is the Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. This theme park replicates 19th century Africa. Tourists who have been to Disney World would be amazed by the different thrill this garden offers. It was opened and used around 1959 as a facility to accommodate Tampa Anheuser-Brewery's visitors. Even though when the brewery shut down after many years later, the Busch Gardens Africa still continued to develop. These days, its chief crowd-pullers, mainly its exotic animals, tropical landscapes, and thrilling rides, make this garden famous all over the world and even making it to Florida's principal zoological attractions.

The Busch Gardens Africa offers many rides, and one of its top rides include the Serengeti Express. This steam train replica stops at the park's Congo/Stanleyville and Nairobi, sections. The park complex's rear is where this express train runs along. Visitors have plenty of options if they need to get to one place to the other since the Skyride, a shuttle ride from the Busch Gardens Africa, takes visitors between the Stanleyville/Congo and Nairobi border areas.

Another unique ride that you'll find in the Busch Gardens is the Busch Gardens' ShreiKra. This rollercoaster with a vertical drop of 90 feet is located in the Stanleyville area of the park. You will be amazed to find that there are only two of these kinds in the whole of United States. If a 90-foot rollercoaster ride is not your type, then you better check the Kumba rollercoaster. This amazing 143-foot tall rollercoaster rollercoaster is found in the Congo area. The Congo section of the Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is undergoing redevelopment since November 2006 and its new name is buzzed about as "Jungala".

African and Egyptian themes are also found in the Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Its African bazaars in Timbuktu section and Egyptian marketplace in the Egypt section can truly create that African and Egyptian atmosphere. In the Egypt section, you will also find the 150-foot Montu rollercoaster and the imitation of King Tutankhamen's tomb.

Not only roller coasters but at the same time visitors often find animal exhibits all around the amusement park. For example, 29-acres of Serengeti Plain serve as animal habitat. It is the home of several free roaming animals like the addaz, addra gazelle, zebra, bongo, giraffe, and East African crowned crane. For those who love a simian environment, there is Myombe Reserve found in the Nairobi section. It is a three-acre abode of nine chimpanzees and six lowland gorillas.

Visitors can now experience the thrill of Busch Gardens Africa which is made possible by the several flights from UK and other international spots to Tampa. There is also a Busch Gardens Europe in Williamsburg, Virginia so if the Busch Gardens Tampa Bay impressed you, you may want to take your family and friends to get the same thrilling experience. And while enjoying your time in the Busch Gardens Europe, you have to remember to take what made Busch Gardens legendary to begin with-the novel Anheuser-Brewery Beer!
