We always have been fascinated with the heavens and stars above, and in this last century we as the human race dared to explore beyond our limits, beyond the Earth and into the depths of Space. The history of our journey to and from the stars has been exciting, and at Florida's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) you can relive those moments in history.

Here at the KSC you can see, touch, and live the advances in space exploration from its beginnings and on into the future. Tours take you around the massive complex showing you rocket pads used during Saturn V launches, The Rocket Garden where you can get up close and personal with actual rockets used by the Space center, and you can even walk through a replica of NASA's orbiters.

The IMAX movie theater delivered an exhilarating show of where our expectations were in the past, how we have exceeded them and what we are planning for the future. The sound quality of the theater was amazing, it was like the huge engines of NASA's most powerful rocket, the Saturn V, were going off right next to you., and with the edition of IMAX 3D it just gets better

You can sit inside a moon rover walk through a replica of the International Space Station, and talk to actual astronauts if you're lucky enough to meet one. We explored the original capsules of the Apollo program recovered from the Ocean upon re-entry and saw many of the historical artifacts that have aided in the space programs history

And no visit to the KSC would be complete without space food. They freeze-dry Ice cream, strawberries and an assortment of other foods for you to try out, and let me tell you there is nothing quite like a freeze-dried strawberry Sunday. Of course there are casual dinning facilities on the grounds but be warned, the food is priced the same as though you were at a theme park.

The tour guides are all well trained and equipped to handle any question you may have about NASA's history or the layout of the complex. You can't help but be enthralled by the achievements mankind has made in space exploration and there's no one able to bring it to life quite like NASA.

Space has always been a big part of our lives, it gave us silly putty, tang, but more importantly strides to cure cancer and end world hunger are all thanks to the research that NASA has pioneered. If you're into the history of our space program I'd defiantly make a detour to the KSC, there is so much to see and do you'll have to leave before you see it all. To make things even better schedule a trip around the time of a shuttle launch and then make your way to the KSC, where the dream was conceived.
