Flossie Versus Facebook

Lee Leon
The sheep is upset by his treatment on Facebook. His account has been disabled and he has received no response to his previous emails, other than a single automated response. In desperation, he has written a poem, because the sheep has found, from experience, that poems often do not get ignored. The Sheep has received a response, but it is not what he would have asked for. This is his original poem, the response from Facebook, and Flossie's reply.

The following has been cut and pasted from Flossie's email account. It is clear that Greg of Facebook would like Flossie to set up another account, but this is clearly not really an option if Facebook are then going to disable that account also.

Dear Greg,

This is not a fake account - this is my account and this is my genuine email, and to prove it, I am using this email to reply to you. I do not understand within what context you are accusing me of a fake account. You have disabled the only account I had and seem to refuse to accept that the only email address that you can use to communicate with me is a valid email account. Personally, I find your logic rather flawed.

I have a website, Greg, on which I use this email address exclusively; I have an email address, which is clearly the case, since I am currently using it and this is effective for communication purposes, and I have friends, who are wondering why you are picking on me. In fact, Greg, from my perspective, I have more to prove that I am genuine than you do (I doubt very much whether you are emailing from your own personal account, for example), but you seem to have the upper hand.

So, I am unable to supply the understanding that you thank me so kindly for. You seem to want me to set up a fake account, to hide the fact that my real account has been disabled. I do not understand, at all.

This seems to work fine on MySpace and they seem happy enough with it. I see no point in investing effort having to argue the simple fact of my existence.

Subject: Plan B - The sheep walks

Facebook does not welcome sheep, it is not sheep inclined
And clearly run by admin peep, who seek to ban sheepkind.
They act without apology, with motives set against
Alternative biology, which is not recompensed.

In days of fair equality across societies niches,
It's sad to find such polity towards another species.

This sheep needs fairer service and since its fall from grace
Will deal with this dis-service by transition to MySpace
And others who want fairer play, can take note of this measure
So, if they wish, they can display collectively displeasure.
Please, do not sit by mournfully in silence just to weep
Instead act more decisively by following the sheep!

I wanted to be a serious writer - unfortunately my muse is a small and not completely sane sheep - but what can you do? It's hard to explain, but that's life and I guess someone has to do it!  View profile
