Flounders Chowder House of Pensacola Beach, Florida

The Place to Be for Good Drinks, Music, and Fantastic Seafood

Flounders Chowder House of Pensacola Beach is a must for anyone that loves fresh seafood and a vibrantly live atmosphere. When walking through the parking lot to enter Flounders Chowder House of Pensacola you will notice very quickly from the crowds of people every night of the week; especially in the summer time that you have reached your destination. Outside of Flounders Chowder house of Pensacola is there cornerstone land mark as you enter the premises; a 55 foot shrimping boat named the M/V Flounder which weighs 30 tons and was built by D.C. Beaux Shipbuilders and commissioned to sail in Bayou La Batre, Alabama in 1946. This ship was the staple for the Flounders Chowder House family of Pensacola as it served as the vessel that Captain Frank Flounder and later his sons Floyd, Felix, and Fred used to shrimp from Key West to Tampico, Mexico until it was decommissioned more than fifty years later in 1998. You definitely won't be able to miss it walking through the entrance to Flounders Chowder House of Pensacola Beach. You will be greeted by a friendly hostess, most likely a young college student, as the Flounders business is open all year round, but is especially popping in the summer when college kids are out of school. You may have a slight wait, but Flounders Chowder House of Pensacola has a great customer capacity where you have the option of seating inside or outside. I highly suggest sitting outside as the environment is much more relaxed and allows for smoking. The time to go is on the weekends; Friday and Saturday night are the days when things really heat up at about 10 P.M. Live bands from all around the Gulf Coast hit Flounders Chowder House to play their music. Flounders Chowder House of Pensacola only schedules the hottest upcoming Gulf Coast bands for their venue. Entertaining customers is what Flounders Chowder House of Pensacola does best.

You will find in the friendly Flounders atmosphere that the servers are professional and well acquainted with professional service as they treat you to the Flounders Chowder House menu. Looking around the Flounders Chowder House you will see some fantastic aesthetic decorations such as an authentic 15 foot raft constructed to carry 27 Cubans to U.S. soil 85 miles across the Gulf of Mexico in 1988. Since Flounders is directly on the white sandy shoreline of Pensacola Beach you can even dock your boat there free of charge to sit down and have a meal. Many fishermen have been through Flounders Chowder House and have donated their broken down out board boat motors for decoration; you will see dozens of them littering the walls of Flounders Chowder House of Pensacola. Flounders Chowder House of Pensacola is also well known for its two bars and some of the best mixed drinks on the Gulf Coast. I highly suggest having their patented Diesel Fuel; which is an extremely strong Long Island Ice Tea that comes in a Flounders mason jar that you can take with you. Be warned that the Diesel Fuel is extremely strong and can knock you on your butt, they are also only allowed to serve you two by law; it's that strong!

Early in the day and evening Flounders Chowder House is a family friendly seafood restaurant; however as night falls there is a lot of heavy drinking and it can get a bit rowdy. But, you're in good hands at Flounders Chowder House as they have beefed up security at night and I personally know that one of the security guards is a six foot tall weight lifting 3rd degree black belt; there is always a one or two police cars out front also for added security. It doesn't seem that necessary, but I think the police just like the scene of Flounders Chowder House as everyone else does. Flounders Chowder house is located at 800 Quiet Beach Rd., Pensacola, Beach, Florida 32561 and their contact number is 850-932-2003. Visit them at their website below to get more information on this friendly atmosphere with good drinks and great seafood.
