Flower Power and World Peace

An Ambitious Change of Pace from Haiku

Deonils
Flower-Power

Flowers are more versatile than you think
Some are food, some are for fancy, some that stink
(And besides stinkweed, there's swamp-cabbages, swamp-roses
and others, and skunk-cabbage to punish your noses)
So here is my light bulb flash for world peace:
Use a flower to reward, to glorify and to punish.
Let me offer some ideas how to do the latter
For believers gone adrift, smack them with a sonflower
And for repeat offenders, dump on the dandelion power
(after all, the dandelion does belong to the same family)
But for friends on AC and elsewhere, there's many a lily
Then there's the mud flower (A compliment , silly of me!)
For are not lotuses as lovely as their habitat is ugly?
Now ... let's say your fiance or fiancee has been unchaste
Depending on their tastes - or do we call it their "untaste" -
You may hit them with a marigold, a geranium, or a vase
(Not the vase itself, but flowers left in it for over 13 days)
And just to be fair, and optimistic (and to get clicks)
Reward the good with a smack from tulips
And if you travel to Hawaii, don't be tempted by hibiscus -
Saying "Hi' is as American as apple pie to us
but "Aloha" power and the all-white hibiscus flower
Are right for Hawaii, White Hibiscus threatened by beasts devour
anything that is the least bit edible (I speak of goats!)
And if you are upset with anyone, this failsafe flower-power
(compliment or insult) is to send them shoots and roots
That is how we keep away military boots:
Both the military and the boot especially when disappointed ...
Use flower-power as above; you will be annointed and sainted!

Wow! What a witty little poem. The world would be a better place if everyone practiced your philosophy.
