Likely the best and least expensive place to go in Nashville to get a Flu shot is the Metro Public Health Department. The health department will open the Fast Track Clinic on November 6th, at 8a.m. Flu shots will be available to the general public, but only to Davidson County residents. The Flu shots will be available at the Fast Track Clinic between 8 am and 3 pm on weekdays in the Lentz Public Health Center, and are offered on a walk in basis only. The Lentz Public Health Center is at 311 23rd Avenue North.
The Flu shots will be offered for a fee of $10, and checks are accepted with a picture ID. Medicare Part B and TennCare will be accepted as well, but they do not accept credit or debit cards. The Flu shots will not be offered to children under three years of age, and those parents should check with their child's pediatrician regarding flu shots for their child. It is recommended that people over the age of 65 as well as those suffering from chronic illness receive the flu vaccination, as this is the best protection available during flu season. People in this group are also advised to get a Pneumococcal (Pneumonia) vaccine in addition to the Flu shot, and this will be offered at the same location for a fee of $15, and Medicare Part B is accepted for this shot as well.
If you need further information about the flu shots, an update, more information on hours of operation or locations, please call the Health Department's Flu shot hotline, at 340-2100, and you will receive a recorded message.
