Flu Immunization Shots in San Antonio: Malls, Clinics and More

Save Yourself from the Flu

Chris Knight
As we all know, flu season is quickly approaching! The flu can have some horrible symptoms, including the risk of death, so it is best to get our immunization shots as soon as possible, before it's too late. Common flu symptoms include fever, headache, muscle aches, severe exhaustion, runny noses, nausea, dry coughing, vomiting and diarrhea.

It is always best to get your flu shot well before the season begins. Each year, 36,000 people die because of the flu; make sure you avoid that stat at all costs! There are many convenient places in San Antonio that offer low-cost flu shots for you and/or your family.

Rolling Oaks Mall
Beginning October 6th, $30 flu shots will be offered at the JCPenney from 10Am-4Pm every weekend up until November 4th. If you need any more information, you can call the Clinical mobility at (210) 651-5601.

All Texas MedClinics
All Texas med-clinics are offering flumist shots to everybody around San Antonio for 25$. There is no fee required for Medicare patients. Also, no appointment is required; all shots are given on a walk in basis. The Texas MedClinics are open 8Am-11Pm every day including weekends.

If You are attending Mt. SAC
Flu shots are available by appointments every Monday and Friday beginning October 8th. This will only be available for the students and employees. Call the Student Health Center, 67B, ext. 4000 for appointment scheduling and other information. If you are not attending SAC then you are not eligible.

Other Places
Shots are also offered at Metropolitan Health District clinics by appointment as well. If you want more information be sure to call (210) 207-8790.

There are many alternative places to get your flu shot in San Antonio as well. You may also want to check with the closest clinic to see if they offer cheap or even free flu shots for your and your loved ones. Always schedule an appointment if possible, as the flu shot rush can become pretty hectic during the holiday season.

Experts say that the flu hits its peak during the months of January and February of every year. They also says that it takes two weeks for your shot to come into effect. Be sure not to procrastinate flutist shots until the very last minute. Children who are ages 6 months to 4 years old, pregnant women and people with chronic medical conditions are at a higher risk. Be sure to get your shots now!
