Jennifer Weiner, bestselling author of books such as Certain Girls, Good in Bed, and In Her Shoes, has outdone herself. Never before has a chic-lit author shown the humanity of marriage and the rationality and heart behind the mistakes that we as married women can often make. You can practically smell the coffee the characters brew in this novel. The character of Diana is understood by every married woman and the character of Lizzie is a caricature of the human drive to right wrongs of the past and just do the best we can.
The best part of this novel is the ending that Weiner has written to model of the real world. Sometimes, there is no happy ending, but simply just an ending and a new beginning. With this ending, Weiner has written herself out of the chic-lit genre and into a brilliant novelist that is worthy of full respect and that I can't wait to read.
