Dress Comfortably: Never fly coach in clothes that are not comfortable. Wear clothes that will enable you move and allow you to breathe. Wear loose and stretchy fabrics; do not wear an outfit that is too tight, that cuts off your air supply. If you can, bring an extra pair of slippers so that you can take off your shoes and allow your feet to breathe.
Position Yourself: Try getting an aisle seat so as to enable you to get up and stretch your legs as often as you'd like. You can also get to go to the bathroom without having to squash your fellow passenger(s) on way to the rest room.
Put A Plug In It: You are sitting beside, in front of or behind a chatty couple or worse still squabbling siblings. Always travel with ear plugs or an I-pod (in case the music selection on board the plane is not exactly your taste). When you have other things to amuse you, you would not give second thoughts to all other distractions that can irritate you.
Sleep It Out: This has proven to be quite effective for many coach passengers. You can stay up all night on the eve of your journey, by the time you board the plane and settle in, you would feel so exhausted that you sleep off. By the time you are awake you would have reached your destination. Well, this method has actually worked for people who were not travelling very far distances.
Travel Light: If you want to be quite comfortable in coach, try not to bring too stuff with you, because you do not want to start struggling with your luggage, lifting it and carrying it down an extremely narrow aisle, hitting/banging into other people. Think about it, you will not have to contend with something under your feet, which could be quite discomforting.
Protect Your Eyes: The air in the air plane cabin can be very dry. The dryness of the air in the plane can cause discomfort (especially to your eyes), so apply some eye drops to your eyes. This will help sooth itchiness and protect your eyes.
Choose Wisely: Before you embark your trip, do a little research, look for airlines that offer the "most comfortable" coach seats. Most new airlines attract customers by offering them comfort at reasonable cost. So look around for airlines that offer very good coach seats. Hey! Think about it, you really can't expect too much, its coach for Christ's sake!
Try and make the best of it, just remember that you are not going to live on a plane forever, its only a couple of hours. Try as much as possible to have positive thoughts and you will be at your destination in no time.
