FMV Offers Affordable and Delicious Lunch Meats

Times are tough for everyone, including me. I have continued my search for great generic products while grocery shopping and found something at Kroger that deserves a mention. If you shop at Kroger you are probably familiar with their For Maximum Value line of products, otherwise known as FMV. I decided to give their lunch meat a try based on the price and package size alone. The selection of For Maximum Value lunch meats is not vast, but they offer the basics: Salami, Old fashioned loaf, dutch loaf, bologna, pimento loaf and so on.

For $1.20 I got a one pound package of salami and old fashioned loaf. That equals 12 slices of lunch meat. I did not think this product would be exceptional, but it was cheap and when you have a very tight budget as I am 12 slices of lunch meat per package is almost 2 weeks worth of lunch.

I had my first sandwich for lunch, which I must admit was not only more appetizing than the standard cheap lunch of Ramean noodles, but also much more delicious. I tried the Old fashioned loaf with an open mind, and I must say this generic lunch meat is fantastic. It tastes every bit as good as deli sliced lunch meat.

I did not expect my family to enjoy this product because of its generic label, but to my surprise everyone loved it. It is a tasty and affordable product that is bound to gain in popularity in these grim economic times. At ten cents a slice it is hard to beat. The only thing I would change about For Maximum Value lunch meat is the packaging. It would be nice if it were in a resealable package. Maybe eventually the standard ham and turkey will be available also.

As with all FMV and Kroger brand products you can try this store brand product without worry, satisfaction is guaranteed. I will keep purchasing FMV lunch meats, they are great for packing lunches if you can't afford to eat out every day, they taste really great and like I said earlier the price cannot be beat! Even if money wasn't an issue I would keep purchasing this food product, I don't see the point in paying extra for a fancy label, the basic red white and blue of FMV suits me just fine! I would recommend the For Maximum Value brand of lunch meats to anyone who likes to save money without skimping on taste. Both the salami and old fashioned loaf are delicious.
