Follow Your Passion

When I was graduated last year, it felt like all the world was concerned with me. Everybody was making plans for my life, what I should do and what I am supposed to do to have a more interesting CV. Well, I heard the word "you have to write" millions of time. Obviously, I have to write, I studied journalism and that is exactly what journalists do : they write. I was told that writing is good I should do in order to improve my writing abilities and full my CV with my well-written articles!

What happened is that I did not. I was concerned with something else something called me and my life not their rules and advice, things that concern me that mean to me not to them. I did not write because I did not want to do. Instead, I chose to enjoy. Fun, that was exactly what I needed not duties but new experiences, concerts, travel, camping... that was exactly what I did. Writing is, definitely, my passion I love to write that is exactly what I can do for living nothing else. But when it turned to be a duty not a fun thing, I couldn't write. Since a while I came back to writing again, because it is not a duty anymore. It is not what I am supposed to be is what I love to be and to do.

When we should do something we are likely to run away from it, make excuses and if you are as good as me when it comes to excuses, you wouldn't just convince people around you with them you would, certainly, convince yourself.

However , if you love to do something you are going to do it whatever happens. That is exactly the way to success. DO what you LOVE! "If you love what you do, then it is no longer work. The money you earn is secondary when you love your work." Catherine Pulsifer.

The bad news is that most of people don't do what they love but what they used to do. That is why, they are not motivated and look at what they don't have. The other bad news is most people do not know what they love to do or what exactly their passion is. When I tell my friends life is too short to be spent doing what you have to do, they claim that this is the only thing they know and that they do not know what is this magic passion they have to follow. Well, it is not that hard to figure out what your passion is.

Why don't you ask yourself?

Ask yourself what I love to do? What are the things that could make me happy? What are the things I enjoy doing?

My answer to these questions is writing, traveling, painting, attending concerts, sleeping, preparing healthy food, reading, helping people...

Then you can figure out what are the things that could make a living from this list. I can choose writing. But I cannot just write. In fact, if I don't read, I don't connect with people, I don't attend concerts, I don't sleep well, I would not write. As all we know the things we want, wants us back, it is important to decide what you want and do it with love. Whatever I put love in becomes easy and enjoyable. That is another trick. When I feel fed up with all the work or researches I am asked to accomplish. I ask myself do I love this? am I enjoying? What about doing it with love? What about putting some love in? Once I do it with love, I do not notice how much exhausting, overwhelming something could be. It is just done. "Love is the master key that opens the gates of happiness." Oliver Wendell Holmes.
