Followup: Oprah & Ashton Kutcher on Twitter

I would like to welcome Oprah Winfrey to www.twitter.com(TWITTER: #6 ranked search term on Yahoo Buzz), and I also want to congratulate Ashton Kutcher on reaching his goal of 1 million followers on this social networking site which utilizes "real time" status messages to keep track of plainly "WHATEVER YOUR HEART DESIRES!" The growth is vast and it is truly amazing!!!

(CNN) "As Ashton Kutcher becomes the first to collect 1 million followers on Twitter and Oprah Winfrey sends out her first tweet, tech observers are debating: Does Friday mark a new peak for the microblogging service? Or the beginning of its demise?"

Today is Saturday AND Twitter.com is still standing ...

I earnestly pray that it "marks a new peak" as oppose to "its demise", because I just recently found twitter myself under the username of @csi_talent, and I am benefiting from this technological advancement greatly. As a matter of fact: THIS article reflects a lot of information that I probably would not have had access to if I wouldn't have been getting mobile text alerts from Twitter! It's astounding to just think that I've been in the dark all of this time. Well, Anyway ...

Oprah's username on Twitter.com is @oprah. I don't want you to be fooled by all the fake Oprah(s) that do exist. Unfortunately, some people either are very ignorant or just don't have anything better to do with their time. They have to harass and attempt to degrade the names of famous celebrities.

(Tech Crunch - Snurl.com - made the prediction that Oprah would eventually bypass Ashton as well as CNN in followers.) .....

I can see this happening within or around "give or take" 11 DAYS per my own calculations!

As of 1:30pm CST Saturday, April 18^th, 2009, she has not completed this objective, however she has most definitely embarked on reaching it in a VERY short time. She's been using Twitter for only a matter of days and already has over a Quarter of a Million followers. Per my last check, 281,206 to be precise, and the number just keeps increasing by the second. I only have twenty-six followers. YES! 26! HAHA! She is literally pulling in approximately another 5 followers PER SECOND! Another statistic I can offer is: Within the last 29 minutes that I've been working on this article, she's increased by over 1 thousand (almost 2 thousand) followers!

Ashton Kutcher (twitter username @aplusk) appeared on Oprah's talk show to discuss fighting malaria in Africa on the 16^th of April. Sitting at approximately 998,000 at the time, he was aiming for 1 million followers on Twitter, stating at one point to Larry King (twitter username @kingsthings), "The battle was about proving that one person can have a voice."

He has exceeded that goal as of 1:13am CST yesterday/Friday!

Congratulations Oprah and Ashton! As for Twitter, I don't see there being a huge problem even though I can see a slight concern considering they have a staff of only 7 associates, and the site is bound to really take off after this pivotal point! I pray the best for all parties. Welcome, Congrats, and Thank you!
