Any caffeine containing foods and drinks are your worst offenders. This is due to the fact that caffeine causes your digestive tract to work faster, as your metabolism is sped up. If this occurs, you can count on going to the bathroom more frequently, and this is not really something you want to be dealing with while you are out. So, to decrease the instances that you will have a fecal accident, you'll want to avoid caffeine containing foods and drinks.
Red meat is something else you do not want to eat too much of, as it causes the odor to be quite pungent. The pungent odor is not something that you want to deal with, as it will definitely attract unwanted attention to you for sure. Eliminating red meat from your diet will cut back on the odor of our stools significantly.
Finally, you do not want to consume too much junk foods or sugary drinks. As a matter of fact, the less of these foods that you drink and eat the better off you will be. Not only can these cause loose bowels, which will make you go to the bathroom more frequently, you will also have a stronger odor to your stools that you would not otherwise have if you stayed away from eating these foods and drinking these drinks.
Fecal incontinence is definitely a challenge to manage. However, avoiding these foods and drinks will make managing it so much easier. It will be hard for you at first, but in time, it will become like second nature to you. There will come a time when you do not even miss these foods and drinks.
