1. Drink Milk Daily.
Undoubtedly Milk is the best handy option of nutrients like calcium, protein and vitamin D but if you are a veggie lover, opt for a well balanced diet including lots of green leafy vegetables, Soya protein and cereals. Daily exposure to the sun will tackle the body's need for D vitamin.

2. Avoid Curd In Cold.
The fact that can aggravate the cold is that curd is often relished in cold state, after refrigeration. So it would be better to consume it at room temperature to avoid increasing unnecessary discomfort.

3. Too Much rice is Fattening.
Rice is a source of carbohydrate but it is devoid of fiber, the reason why it is not as filling as a chapatti and thus one tends to eat more of it in a single serving yet feels hungry sooner since it being a simple carbohydrate it is quickly digested and leaves the stomach empty sooner.
Opt for brown rice and eat it with salad, vegetables and whole pulses to add fiber.

4. Avoid Citrus Fruits in Cold.
Very common wrong notion. On the contrary vitamin C present in citrus fruits helps in combating flu and cold faster.

5. Giving Honey to Newborn Babies.
A very frequent practice in most families but it is absolutely undesirable. The mother's milk is far more nutrient rich and easily digested for the baby. Besides, smaller digestive and immune systems may not respond well to Natural Honey.
