Food Review: Pizza at Joe's Pizza in New York, NY
Eating Pizza at the Place Featured in the Spiderman Movies!
Joe's Pizza is famous for it's pizza being of the highest quality but also for being featured in the Spiderman movies. It is where Peter Parker worked in the movies and where the film was shot. We arrived there for dinner at about 10:30pm. It was a late dinner since we waited until the Neil Gaiman and Friends book reading was over.
The line was fairly short at Joe's Pizza and while a friend of mine went to order a large pie with extra cheese and garlic we went to find seat in the park across from the building. We found a bench that was directly across from a water fountain. It was a calm, relaxing setting with small groups of people almost everywhere you looked.
About 10 minutes after we sat down, my friend, came back with the pizza. It was hot, bubbly and huge. The cost for a pie at Joe's Pizza with the extra cheese and garlic is $24.95. This seemed a little expensive to me but my friends assured me that in New York, that is a great price for pizza. Each slice of pizza is equal to 2 slices the way I am used to it. And the pizza was delicious. I wish I could share how enjoyable the pizza was. The cheese was perfectly melted, there was just enough sauce and the dough soft with a crisp bottom. My one friend complained that there wasn't enough garlic but I didn't notice it. I may have a hard time eating pizza back in the Poconos but it is a really good thing the pizza place I frequent is owned by a native New Yorker who knows how to make a pie.
I plan on going back to New York one day and Joe's Pizza is on my list of places to eat at again. But I think I will have a slice for lunch as a friend told me about this little Italian restaurant that I should go too.
Joe's Pizza in Greenwich Village New York, NY gets 5 out of 5 stars from me!
