Foodie Father's Day Brunch Ideas

My dad is a foodie. He loves the taste and texture experience of food so I have always tried to give him something for Father's Day that would excite his foodie urges and provide him with a memorable experience. Brunches are really banquets with traditional food such as waffles, ham and eggs. Everyone enjoys a traditional brunch but on Father's Day, I like to give Dad something more memorable and little bit exotic around the traditional brunch time.

One of my family's favorite places to have holiday brunches in the city is Chicago's landmark Signature Room on the 95th floor of the John Hancock Tower. The food is always excellent and the 360-degree view of the city from the restaurant's floor to ceiling windows provides amazing views of the city. Its art deco atmosphere creates a movie like setting which creates a perfect place to enjoy dad's special day.

The Signature Room's Sunday brunch is one of the best in the city and it will satisfy any foodie with their selection of over 60 items including made to order omelets, fresh baked breakfast pastries and cooked to perfection prime rib. Seafood lovers will swoon over their fresh raw seafood bar. Brunch is held on Sundays from 10am to 2 pm and reservations are recommended. The Signature Room is located at 875 North Michigan Avenue.

Zorba the Foodie

Did your mom love the movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"? Is your Dad a foodie willing to experience traditional Greek food that only a grandmother can make? If you answered yes to these questions then an afternoon spent eating, laughing and dancing at St. Demetrios' Father's Day Annual Picnic Festival is the brunch opportunity for your family. Their Greek style BBQ offering offers chicken and beef with generous sides of fresh Greek salad and rice pilaf. The portions are extremely generous and we enjoy purchasing a number of meal selections to share family style.

Round out the meal with homemade Greek pastries. My husband enjoys the homemade dessert selection and generous portions so much that he has asked the family to take him here for his big day. After your meal, experience an authentic Greek Taverna with Greek dancing and traditional Greek beverages. Festival hours are from noon to midnight on June 18 '" 20. The BBQ Lover

It is hard to find a good BBQ brunch in Chicago that will not break the bank and that is why I recommend The 6 Corners BBQ Fest. The fest, located at 4000 N. Milwaukee Ave in Chicago's Portage Park neighborhood, can satisfy the fussiest BBQ lover with a variety of tempting foods such as ribs, pulled pork and other BBQ delicacies. The Father's Day BBQ fest will be held on Saturday June 18 from noon to 10 pm and on Sunday June 19 from noon until 8pm.

Dads will particularly love the beer and BBQ, live music and this year's 3-stoogies movie marathon. We enjoy 6 Corners BBQ Fest because of the live music entertainment and fact they have activities to keep the kids busy. The kids will enjoy the ice cream and playing in the inflatables while the adults lounge and enjoy good BBQ. A donation of $6 is requested for admission in addition to the cost of food and drink.
