When we think about dining in Europe our thought are immediately drown to Paris, Rome, London, Barcelona, Vienna, est. Cities that have popular and delicious cuisines as well as strong history.
I will take you from a foodie's prospective what are the best cities to dine and have wonderful experience while traveling to Europe.
Tuscany, Italy
Tuscany is the region in Central Italy. This city is widely known for it's beautiful landscape, artistic legacy, unique culinary tradition and it is place where Italian Renaissance was born. Tuscany is the home of the most influenced people in history from art to science geniuses such as Galileo Galilei, Petrarch, Dante, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Vespucci, Puccini and Dante. Hotels and restaurants have extraordinary food as well as give you fantastic experience.
The restaurant of "Corte dei Papi" is by definition an exclusive for those who want to savor the delicacies of cuisine revisited by the creativity, while you live the experience of a unique stay in charming hotel surrounded by nature, history, art, and the traditions of Tuscany region between Cortona, Arezzo and Perugia. It is also welcome for people that are not guests at the hotel. Among many places in Europe, Tuscany offering the best of the best, with amazing traditional food, beautiful scenery and great people to welcome you. There is many hotels from 5 stars to Charming Farm guest houses leaving you with great experience every step that you take.
Almost every Italian city has their own traditional dishes, culture and beautiful sights. In my opinion, Italy is dream land for any foodie.
Paris, France
There is no surprise that foodie's dream is to visit Paris, which holds over 9,000 restaurants and just about any cuisine can be found. Paris offers many attractions and wonders that would trill any person if they look for adventure. The most popular attraction is no other than Eiffel Tower, following by amazing Louvre Art Museum and many historic buildings and cathedrals. You have to ask yourself: "Is there anything better than smell of freshly baked croissants early in the morning?"The best place to dine is by far Les Ambassadeurs. It will satisfy your hunger with mouthwatering creative dishes and classic French cuisine in H´tel de Crillon's 1775 former baroque ballroom, and now a luxuriously furnished dining room. Les Ambassadeurs has operated as a restaurant in the hotel since the 19th century. A menu of six courses is offered for 140 Euros. Whatever your choice, the service will be amazing.
However, anywhere you dine in Paris you will end up with fantastic food an extraordinary experience.
Athens, Greece
Greece is really beautiful place to visit. Food is authentic, delicious, light and just perfect for summer time. From all the places, I think Athens is sticking out the most, perhaps because it is the capital and the largest city in Greece and you have a lot to see while on vacation. People are kind, welcoming and wherever you turn history is surrounding you.Athens accommodations private tours, Museums, Archaeological Sites, Restaurants, Night life, Shopping, and much more.
Plaka used to be called by the Greeks "The neighborhood of the Gods", and today Plaka is one of the main attractions for the tourists; restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops all can be find there. If you are looking for a real food you are in the right place. Athens offering all kind of restaurants with local, international and ethnic cuisine, grill houses, Greek souvlaki shops, pizzerias, hamburger stands, are to be found everywhere in Athens. There are numerous beaches and all the beaches of Athens are well organized . Most popular are the beaches in Vouliagmeni, Varkiza, Kavouri, Glyfada and Alimos is the nearest to the center of Athens.
Madrid, Spain
Madrid is the largest city in Spain with population well over 3 million people. It is the most touristic city of the Spain and 4th on the continent. Also according by the 2010 issue of "Monocle Magazine" it is 10th most livable cities in the world. Madrid possesses a modern infrastructure, it has preserved the look and feel of many of its historic streets. The Royal Palace, Royal Theatre, El Retiro Park founded in 1631; The 19th Century National Library, and the Golden Triangle Art located on Paseo del Prado are several of Madrid's landmarks.Madrid is dominated by its Royal history, center of the Spanish Empire.
Madrid is not just a cultural destination. It is also a lively metropolis with many cafes, pubs, and night clubs that are open until morning hours. Cuisine contain many dishes of lamb and veal but Madrid is a real paradise for fish lovers. Madrid has the biggest fish market and holding second place in the world just after Tokyo.
Zurich, Switzerland
Switzerland has several official languages such as Italian, French and the largest population is speaking German. Switzerland's Cuisine has influence from many countries and we as a foodies have so much to choose from. Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland by land and population. Zurich is known for its culture and they have Old Churches such as Grossmunster, Fraumunster, St. Peter and all of them have beautiful architect work with amazing stained glass windows, Art galleries with the finest collections, such as Chagall, Miro and Picasso and many Museums for anyone's taste. Zurich is still very lively working class city with many amazing foreign restaurants and an astonishing diversity of people from many nations. While there you have to visit center called "Zurich West" around Escher-Wyss Platz , which was the former industrial area of the city. There you will find bars, restaurants, clubs, all of which are often visited by the locals and offering a more insider sight of one of the richest city in the Europe. Also since Street Parade overtook London's Notting Hill Carnival, Zurich is hosting Europe's largest annual street party.

Post a CommentI'm a foodie too, so I love to try different cuisines whenever I visit another country. My husband is not so keen on Parisian cuisine though. He remembers a bad experience we had on a particular visit to the city.
