The higher the complex carbohydrates, the better. This comes from foods such as vegetables, fruits and whole grains rich in fiber. Low protein is another key to controlling the pain. In addition, dark berries are thought to contain certain chemicals that can help to reduce levels of uric acid and aid in the decrease of inflammation.

Some fish, such as salmon contain fatty acids that are also believed to help reduce inflammation. The same is true of certain nuts and the type of oil you use can be beneficial. This is all the more reason to pay attention to the foods that are consumed on a daily basis.
