Wrinkles are developed by many different factors.

Free radicals are molecules that lead to the degeneration of collagen, a protein found in the skin that keeps it elastic and healthy looking. Free radicals speed up the process of aging and because they react with oxygen they may reduce the oxygen supply to your cells.

Free radicals come from the sun, X-rays, and gamma rays from radioactive material.

Cigarette smoke is filled with free radicals.

They also come from our own body's metabolism, exercise, stress.

So how do you protect yourself from free radicals??? Take lots of antioxidants!!!

Antioxidants help counter acts a decrease in collagen, elasticity and firmness.

Tomatoes prevent wrinkles because they contain lycopene. Lycopene is a substance that also decreases the risk of developing cancer.

Vitamin C rich foods help keeps the skin looking smooth.

Sources of vitamin C include citrus fruits, strawberries, bell peppers and broccoli.

Blueberries are loaded with antioxidants on top of helping to strengthen collagen formation; they have other health benefits to them. Blueberries help improve eyesight and circulation; they are also a natural diuretic, which helps blood flow and helping to alleviate symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.

Omega-3 is found in a lot of different types of fish, nuts and certain oils. Omega 3 essential fat is known to help prevent and reverse heart disease, reduce inflammatory response, nourish dry skin and hair.

Green tea is also loaded with antioxidants.

Help yourself along with eating the right foods, quit smoking and wear sunscreen when you're out in the sun and drink lots of water!
