Start each day off with antioxidants, those great little things that help to get the free radicals out of our systems. Free radicals are the nasty little things that cause illness, disease and things like cancer inside our bodies. Antioxidants can help to reduce inflammation. You get this good for you fighter from eating colorful fruits and vegetables. For a double shot of antioxidants try the following: Carrots are rich in beta carotine and help with eye site problems. Bell peppers are full of vitamin C, which fight off colds and infections. Tomatoes are rich in cancer fighting lycopene. Leafy greens like Kale have lutein inside.
Curcumin is one of the most powerful anti-inflammatories out there. It can be found in turmeric, an Indian spice. Curcumin is effective in use for the prevention and treatment of cancer. You can also use ginger and rosemary for it's curcumin properties.
Try Oleic Acid that is found in oils like canola, macadamia, almond and olive. It is rich in monounsaturated omega-6 fatty acids, which help to promote high levels of HDL (good) cholesterol. Oleic Acid also helps reduce arterial plaque, making the heart safe from possible stroke.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids are helpful to asthma sufferers, people with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrom) and rheumatoid arthritis. Fish, like salmon, anchovies, and sardines are wonderful sources of these fatty acids. Also available through Flaxseed oil, walnuts and leafy greens like chard.
Polyphenols which are found in the phytochemicals that are in blackberries, blueberries, cherries, cranberries, raspberries and strawberries help to promote healthy blood flow, which reduces plaque buildup in the arteries.
Quercetin, a flavanoid that is found in red grapes, red and yellow onions, garlic and apples helps to inhibits the flow of histamines, allergens that cause inflammation.
With all this goodness in foods that you can readily find at any grocer how can you not be healthy? Make the right food choices and your meals can save your life!
