Michelle M. Guilbeau
Eating a sensible diet and healthy food is always good, we have been told this since we were children. What we often forget about is that the right foods are not only good for our health, but also good for such things as helping our hair grow longer.

Eating a healthy diet, exercising and getting enough sleep are all important factors in not only maintaining a healthy body, but also what we cherish on the outside of our bodies such as hair, skin and nails. It is important to remember that whatever we put into our bodies shows on the outside too.

Here you will find a list of foods that are beneficial for your outer beauty:

Food to Make Hair Grow Longer #1: Eggs

Hair is basically made up of protein and eggs are an excellent source of protein, the great thing about eggs is they can be prepared so many different ways so eating eggs does not have to get boring. Protein not only helps to make hair grow longer and stronger, it is also great for the body and gives lots of energy.

Food to Make Hair Grow Longer #2: Nuts

Another excellent source of protein that is wonderful to help make hair grow longer are nuts. My favorite thing about nuts besides they taste delicious is they are so portable, many times when I am in a hurry I will throw some nuts in a bag and go. Nuts are high in Vitamin E which is also needed for good health. Almonds and hazelnuts are top choices as they are so high in Vitamin E but low in saturated fat.

Food to Make Hair Grow Longer #3: Fish

Fish is always an excellent source of protein and thus will help in hair growth plus fish also contains natural oils and vital fatty acids. Fish is also low in calories and great for weight management so if you are looking for foods that will not only help with hair growth but also with diet concerns, fish would be an outstanding choice.

Food to Make Hair Grow Longer #4: Vegetables

Here is another good reason to eat our vegetables; it helps to make hair grow. Most of us know that vegetables are good for us and we should each be getting our daily intake of vegetables but knowing that vegetables help in hair growth just reaffirms the importance of eating vegetables on a daily basis.

Food to Make Hair Grow Longer #5: Fruit

Fruits such as oranges, melons and berries are a great source of Vitamin C. Vitamin C is known to help with the common cold and help in the prevention of getting sick but it is not commonly known that Vitamin C also helps to make hair grow longer.

The best thing to remember when trying to decide which foods to eat that will help make hair grow is to eat a balanced and healthy diet. Follow the recommended daily intake from the food groups that are listed on the food pyramid that we all know and love. There really are no magical answers when trying to grow your hair longer, it is all dependent on good nutrition and a sensible diet.
