Youthful, radiant facial skin starts from the inside out. Certain foods have been proven to rejuvenate skin and help you keep that youthful appearance and reduce the need for painful surgical procedures to remain young looking. Incorporate these five skin rejuvenating foods into your diet as often as possible and try the 'Gorgeous Skin Parfait' recipe at the end which uses all five foods at once and tastes great!
Berries are Rich in Skin Rejuvenating Antioxidants
Antioxidants keep skin looking young by protecting it from the sun's damaging rays. Antioxidants also boost the skin's production of collagen, which helps prevent skin from sagging. Berries, like blueberries, raspberries and strawberries are rich in antioxidant.
Brazil Nuts are Rich in Selenium
Selenium is a mineral your body uses to help skin maintain it's elasticity and prevents cell damage from free radical, which make skin look older. Brazil nuts are the rischest food source of selenium.
Low Fat Yogurt
Low fat yogurt is a powerful source of vitamin A, the vitamin which encourages the growth of new skin cells. Vitamin A also keeps skin cells loaded with moisture, and moisture-filled skin cells look younger than dry, flaky skin cells. If you don't do anything else to improve your skin's appearance, simply eating a cup of low fat yogurt each day can make skin look 5-10 years younger.
Eat More Oranges, Have Less Wrinkles
Oranges are a well known source for vitamin C, and research has shown the more vitamin C in the blood stream, the less likely skin is to develop wrinkles. Vitamin C also helps keep the immune system strong, warding off illnesses that will make skin look older.
Walnut's Fatty Acids
Two nuts makes it to the top five foods for younger skin for their different skin rejuvenating contents. Walnuts are a rich source of Omega-3 fatty acids, acids which revitalize cell walls to promote the exit of skin damaging toxins.
