Foods that Will Awaken Your Sexual Appetite & Enhance Your Sex Drive

Eating Your Way to Arousal

Sherri Granato
All food was not created equally, and in fact some of our most favorite and delectable treats will put on weight, while others will aid in our efforts to lose a few pounds. A few foods will even make you sleepy, while others will give you a burst of energy, but the most enticing foods will give you an insatiable sex drive like nothing else. Ironically the forbidden fruit has nothing to do with sex at all unless you can eat an apple with a bit of sex appeal, perhaps with the juice running down your chin while your lover attempts to lick it off.

Evidence concerning sexual desire has been growing in droves and research has taught us a bit of a lesson along the way. Vitamins and components in food can definitely rev up sexual function or at least heighten the thought process to get one motivated towards being in the mood. And unless you are a real "horn dog" food alone will not complete the sexual urges that come with desire and a healthy sexual appetite.

The want and need for sex must first exist to even think about getting in the mood, and the emotions between two people can have a lot to do with feeling the affects of things to come. Yearning is a part of human nature, but not necessarily so when it comes down to getting naked and naughty, as not everyone is comfortable in the buff. However just about anyone can be persuaded to enjoy a sensual sexual encounter in the right situation, and with the right partner.

Attraction between two lovers helps in the area of hardly being able to wait to seize the moment, but stressed out and overworked minds will be thinking about everything else, but sex. This is where food, along with a warm bath and soft massage can come to the rescue. Foods packed with zinc are an important part of anyone's life who wishes to remain sexually active long after the expiration date comes rearing its ugly head.

Zinc: Foods rich with zinc are an excellent source for maintaining a healthy sex life as long as other problems do not exist. A person's mental health when at a low point can play a big part in lacking sexual desire, but I am talking about foods and do not wish to stray away from the point I am trying to make concerning food and a healthy sexual appetite. With this in mind let us not forget important seasonings that enhance our foods like paprika, dry mustard, thyme, cinnamon, and ground black pepper which are all rich with zinc.

Seafood: Let me start with the basic rundown of the foods that contain the highest amounts of zinc. Almonds, peanuts and walnuts are a great snack that pair well with cheese and wine, all of which are the perfect mood setters and aphrodisiacs. Oysters, tuna, wild salmon and shrimp are first place pace setters when it comes to turning the night into an unforgettable erotic night filled with powerful emotions and passion that just might take you over the edge.

Chocolate: Women who devour the endorphin rich sugary milky or dark sensation favorably known as chocolate, report having better sex lives then women who don't relish its taste, and they experience heightened arousal along with desire which is often the result of eating the serotonin rich food. When women think about the powers that chocolate possesses, they conclude that it's not a food, but instead it is an enticing drug that is better when its creaminess and taste are enjoyed by two.

Bearing this thought process in mind, chocolate truffles or a strawberry dipped in whipped cream or chocolate will welcome playful thoughts and fantasies, especially when you feed them to each other slowly and sensually. Touching each other while feeding the soul is great for foreplay, and doing this through food and sensual touches can be totally empowering, causing a mood that only asks for more, and I'm not talking about food.

Sweet pineapple chunks dipped into serotonin rich chocolate and paired with champagne are just plain succulent and sexy as the delicious fruit screams of exotic things to come. The bromelain enzyme is found naturally in the pineapple, and is reported to enhance the male libido. The chilled champagne will compliment the fruit nicely as well as lower your inhibitions and put you into a relaxed state of mind that allows the most stressed out person to loosen up and get into a frame of mind that can lead to a mood filled with passion and desire.

Avocados: What's not to like? They are creamy, buttery and delicious. They make a terrific guacamole that pairs well with a margarita. They are packed full of nutrients from zinc to potassium and the Aztecs felt they made a perfect aphrodisiac as they are shaped liked testicles. In fact they referred to the avocado tree as the "Ahuacuatl," or "testicle tree." The margarita serves to lower those inhibitions that sometimes play a big part of us missing out on the fun.

Figs: These little cuties are the ultimate food that is both sexy and erotic due to its common nature of remaining the fertility food largely because of it being Cleopatra's favorite snack. The ancient Greeks felt that the fig was more precious then gold which tells us a lot about their view on sex and a life without inhibitions that we can't seem to ignore today.

Foods play a role in our sex lives when you involve texture, taste, energy, magical effects, romance and sensory which comes from shapes and colors. With this in mind a table setting can become a method of foreplay simply from placing foods in erotic positions or adding reds to promote romantic notions. Flowers are stimulating and will aid in smell as well as calming effects. The food is only a part of the master plan of seduction strategies and other fun pleasures that are sure to come from enjoying food and sexual desire as a whole.

When you think about pet names like cupcake, honey, sugar or pudding pie you can't help but associate food and sex as a unit that plays well together in the right circumstances and best of settings. Food and sex compliment each other so easily that it is hard to see where one ends and the other begins in the big picture of things related to sexual awareness and what we expect and want from playing the main role.

Sexual prowess stems from inhibitions being released, and in doing this it opens us up to a world of things to experience; and why not do it through food? We love and need food to survive, and we love sex as a part of bonding or relating to another in the most intimate of ways, so putting the two into a sexual recipe will only benefit the people involved, and it may just prove that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach."
