Did you know there are certain foods that can actually make you sweat just from eating them? Yep, it's true. The reasons that these foods can make you sweat are not always the same. Some of these foods will actually increase your body temperature by speeding up your metabolism. Others just trick your body into thinking it's hot. Now, before you think you've just discovered a new way to lose weight, don't get to excite. The only weight you'll lose will be water weight from sweating, not fat.
Hot Peppers
Now, this one shouldn't be very surprising. Everyone associates hot, spicy peppers with heat. When you bite into one of them, it has the potential to make you perspire because peppers contain the chemical capsaicin that ticks your body into thinking it's hot. Once you're brain receives the signal that your temperature's gone up, prepare to sweat.
Hot Soup
Hot soup, as well as any other type of very hot liquid, can make you sweat just a little bit. Because the temperature of the soup is hotter than your own body temperature it causes your temperature to rise slightly when you ingest it.
Coffee
Hot coffee can make you sweat a little bit just like hot soup, but that's not the only reason it will bring beads of water to your forehead. Coffee contains caffeine - lots of it -, which is a stimulant. Stimulants raise your heartbeat and speed up your metabolism, causing your body to get hotter and begin to sweat. The next time you drink a double shot of espresso you may notice you could use some extra deodorant
Alcohol
There's a reason people will sometimes hand a sick person a shot of alcohol and say, "sweat it out." Alcohol causes your blood vessels to dilate the same way they do when it's hot outside. This sends your body the message to cool down, which causes you to sweat. What's interesting about alcohol, though, is that unlike the other foods, alcohol will make you sweat at first but leave you feeling colder in the long run.
