Foopets: What Are They

Mary Kirkland
This is a great first website for kids, and best of all it's totally free. If your child doesn't have a lot of experience with the computer and you want to get them involved, they are sure to find a pet they like. Your child will get to pick the breed of dog or cat they like, name it and even pick it's gender.

What Is Foopets

While Foopets only has dog and cats right now, your kids are sure to fall in love with one of these adorable virtual pets. Kids will learn responsibility as they have to feed, bathe, and play with their pets on a regular basis or their pets get taken away from them.

Children can earn Foogems that they can then turn in for things for their pets. Children can play Frisbee with their Foopets, pet them, bathe them, groom, water and even breed them with other animals and get a litter of puppies or kittens to take care of. Children can also earn Foo Dollars that can be used for vet visits, home décor and much more.

All your child has to do is visit the website and interact in some way with their Foopet each and every day and they will have a healthy happy pet. The more they do this the more foogems they will get and be able to decorate their room with different backgrounds and decorations as well as buying other Foopets.

What parents Should Know

The possible problems for parents to consider is this website is designed for children age 13 and up. There is a forum and adults routinely post in it. While the forum is moderated, it is still a social networking site and the moderators cannot in the forums cannot be everywhere at once. So it's up to the parents to make sure who their children are talking to in the forums.

Children have to put in their birthdate when they set up their account and kids under the age of 13 will not be allowed to post in the forum or breed their animals.

Foo Dollars are also required for many itms that your childs pet is going to need. While you can get them for free there are other ways to earn Foo Dollars that are not free. Children can get Foo Dollars by clicking on offers, which could be as benign as taking a "How Hot RU?" test to something I don't think should be on a site targeted for children, because it says, "Meet and Chat with sexy People".

Thanks you for updating me, I had no idea it was so expensive now or that it was no longer free.

This has now all changed. Now the parent has to pay for clubfoo by the month or year. The pet is no longer free. Pets are 300 foodollars and those would have to be purchased by the parent. You can have fun decorating the scenes but getting the items to do this can be expensive. Lately the prices have almost doubled. As a parent myself, I would not recommend it. As a matter of fact, more adults like this site than children. Most children become bored with it. So for the money I would look elsewhere.

Go to Foopets.com and then scroll through the dogs and cats on that page and click on the one you want. Then click on 'Make it Mine' and it will take you to the login page and you can sign up.
