Football Recipes: Coaches Chicago Chili Dish

Footballs Foods for Game Time

R. Hill
During football season it's best to have your football snacks in arms distance and ready to consume. There is nothing like watching your team winning the game and you having your perfect football foods right by your side. If you don't know how to make these great dishes you can always purchase them, but it's not the same, so man up or woman up for those women football fans. The dish I love and everyone at work love is Coaches Chicago Chili. The people at work ask for this chili in the summer time, that's how good it is. Summer time is not Chili time so there won't be Coaches Chicago Chili during the summer months. If you like this dish you can even buy a t-shirt from Mytees2 that says I love Coaches Chili.

1 pound of Ground Turkey

1 can of kidney beans

1 can of chili beans

2 diced tomatoes (or 2 cans of diced tomatoes) you make the call.

2 cans of 8oz tomato sauce

1 package of chili mix (Ortega makes a good one and so does Aldis)

These other ingredients you use to season to taste.

Pepper, Garlic powder, chili powder, celery salt, lemon pepper seasoning.

The key to good chili is to season the meat as it cooks, and then once you combine the ingredients you then season the whole dish one more time to taste. After the meat is done you combine the remaining items one at a time and try to stack them on top of each other ex. I can kidney beans, 1 diced tomatoes...etc. This way is good because it blends the dish together well. You can put the final dish either in a crock pot (recommended) or in a large pot to simmer for at least an hour if you are hungry, or four hours if you want the ultimate taste. I know you are wondering how I get that kick in my chili, you have to add either those crushed peppers that go on pizza, or add some jalapenos. Be careful everybody can't eat hot chili, but chili is not for everyone. There are several ways to serve this football snack and one of my favorite ways is to put some chili in a bowl, some sour cream, cheese, and some Fritos or crackers. Have fun enjoy the football game whether your watching youth football or professional football, and remember chili is not meant for the summer time, so if they ask for Coaches Chicago Chili tell them not in the summer, and not after the last snow has fell.
