Foothills

Cobblestones
Cool beneath my feet.
I shiver
While listening to the water
Trickling through the hills
And surrounding me.

Quietude
Piercing to my heart.
Warming me
While I gaze upward to the moon
Where cotton ball clouds
Wear silver halos
Against the bluish purple sky.
