Footloose Remake Hits Theaters on October 14

Renee Bagley
The film Footloose is being remade starring Kenny Wormald and Julianne Hough (of "Dancing with the Stars" fame). 26-year-old Kenny previously starred in MTV's reality series "Dancelife." And word is Kenny was up against stiff competition to get the "Footloose" role. Other stars previously attached to the remake include "Gossip Girl's" Chace Crawford and Zac Efron. But in the end, Kenny won out due to his obvious dance background. The star admits his dancing began at age 6.

Dennis Quaid will also be a part of the remake and it will be interesting to see him partake in the film.

The original version from 1984 starred Kevin Bacon and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Actually, when the original Footloose came out, Lori Singer (who was on the TV series of "Fame") was a much bigger star than Sarah Jessica Parker, and Singer had the female lead role, to SJP's minor one. Anyway, there was no reason to make this since the original was lovely so I'm not going to see it!
