We walk down paths
Filled with gravel
Society sharpens its claws
As we do sometimes
Giving our pain a razor's edge
Cutting our teeth
We walk down paths
Not thankful though
Still alive to feel the pain
Weakness not admired
But scolded by society
I, we forget God
If our beauty goes
Fades away like
The last buzz of neon
Signs across the apartment window
We sigh feeling the sorrow
All should be lost
Tapered off like a last
Breath on this earth
I blame myself for not
Being strong enough

Post a CommentThere's much more to beauty than hair, and you're definitely a beautiful person. :-) Excellent poem!
Hang in, sweet girl. We're with you!
Kady, sounds like you're judging yourself, or did I misunderstand? If so, chalk it up to my fatigue tonight. If I'm right, you knock it off! Only God has the authority to judge!
EXCELLENT !!!!
Not to worry. When there is love there is love and nothing else matters, and you are loved by so many.

I've always had thin hair, especially on top, and I complained about it all the time ... and then I lost ALL of it when I had chemo. I'm glad to have my thin hair back now :-) It's all a matter of perspective sweetie. (((((((((((hugs)))))))))))
