this is not
where i want to be
alone in the dark
blind
from the lights
screaming in at my face
begging me to speak
just so i can say
what isn't right
again
and always
again

your voice is a song
a million miles away
the lullaby that i can almost
hear

i felt your hands and fell asleep and woke
still pressed against your palm
smaller than i was before
invisible
fingers closed you wrapped around
and held me till i suffocated
blissful, caught inside your breath

in winter there is never
quite enough of me to share.
