Knoxville-based singer/songwriter Scott Miller is capturing listeners' attention on his album For Crying Out Loud. Featuring Scott Miller and his band The Commonwealth, the 13-track album features an eclectic mix of Rock, Country, and Bluegrass tunes. Stand out-tracks on the album include "I'm Right Here, My Love", "Heart in Harm's Way", the Tom T. Hall cover song "I Can't Dance", and "Sin in Indiana".

For Crying Out Loud features songs of emotion, love, and humor. On the Doug Lancio-produced track "I'm Right Here, My Love", Scott Miller was inspired to transform a sentimental love story into a beautiful ballad. The lyrics, "Can you hear me crying/I'm right here, my love/The unknown is frightening/I'm right here, my love/" depicts the feelings of Miller's mother-in-law as she witnessed the passing of her husband of 67 years. Miller's mother-in-law comforted her husband throughout his final days, which is narrated throughout the lyrics of the song. Legendary country singer Patty Griffin collaborated with Scott Miller on the song, to enhance the feelings of the track.

The Rock/Pop tracks "Heart in Harm's Way" and the cover song "I Can't Dance" feature humorous approaches to romantic feelings while dancing. "Heart in Harm's Way" features lyrics full of imagery, describing the funny thoughts of the narrator "Shaky hands, shake your hand/I can't decide on which leg to stand./From the left to the right/If I'm just dancing I'm doing alright./" The track features a slow, rhythmic groove providing the ultimate setting for romantic feelings. Scott Miller recorded the cover song "I Can't Dance", which was originally written by Tom T. Hall for the 1973 Gram Parson's album Grievous Angel. The track features humorous lyrics such as,"...I can't dance, I never could/I guess my feet don't match/I've been thinking about dancing with you, but I'm afraid of hurting my back/I don't know what you're doin, but I like everything you do.."

The Country/Blues tune "Sin in Indiana" is a deep and emotional song as singer/songwriter Scott Miller describes how sin travels from the Midwest to the deep south in New Orleans. "Sin in Indiana" features characters named after popular exit signs Miller passed while travelling throughout the Midwest. Throughout the 2-minute track, Miller sings the story of each characters: Magnolia Hempstead, Chalmers Wolcott, and Henry Streator. Henry Streator portrays sin and violence as he "owns the town" and "beats men down". Deacon Chalmers Wolcott portrays sin in the church as he is described as a "liar" and involved in porn. The third character, Magnolia Hempstead portrays sin and drugs as she has been "high off pot" and "chewed until her teeth were gone".

As evident in For Crying Out Loud, Scott Miller and his Nashville-founded band The Commonwealth engage fans/listeners with their music of hidden meanings and influences. Released on his own F.A.Y. Recordings, the album continues to be a popular hit with fans and new listeners around the country. With a newly recorded batch of Christmas songs out in time for his annual Johnson City, Tennessee Christmas concert and a new album due out early next year, Scott Miller is staying more focused and determined than ever on his musical career.
