For Mother's Day

Lullaby

Dan Reveal
Mother, please light a candle,
and let's say goodnight to the world.
Sit by my pillow and sing to me,
as in my safe bed I lay curled.

As in my safe bed I lay curled.

Mother, please sing the lullaby,
the one that has our favorite words.
Stay until night has slowly passed over,
for in your arms I'm as free as a bird.

In your arms I'm as free as a bird.

How nice! Your poems have a lot of feeling and meaning. I miss the days of being comforted by my mother as a child. Life can be really hard, and kids want to grow up fast. I only wish I could go back - even if just for a moment.
