For the Sake of Paid Employment

Chapati
So you are looking for a salaried job? And you start pounding the pavements armed with your college degree with little or no experience under your belt. You won't believe the kind of stuff job seekers go through in order get a job (any job!), so that they can pay all or part of the bills. As if that is not bad enough, they might end up working for a boss from hell.

Here are examples of job seeking situations that are not very pleasant:

Scam Employment Agencies

There are so many people looking for jobs that instead of pounding the pavement, they go through employment agencies; and there is nothing wrong with that. That is, if you do not run into scammers. These bogus employment agencies set up fake tests and tell job seekers to pay some money in order to secure jobs for them. They entice job seekers with lucrative jobs with airline companies, engineering firms and cruise ships. If you are too desperate to land any job then you are likely to fall victim to their scam and end up parting with money you'll never see again. The most pathetic part of it all is that, some job seekers end up borrowing the money they give to these scammers.

The money is said to cover the cost of training and training materials.

Scratch My Back And I'll Scratch Yours

Women are always at the receiving end of this madness. Female job seekers are sometimes asked to lie on their back or get on their knees (whatever boss wants) and if she complies, she gets the job and sometimes perform other "favours" in order to get to the top. If she is unlucky, she will have to live with constant office gossip and be referred to as "the boss' whore".

The Interview Panel Woman

In every interview panel, there is always a certain woman that prevents you from getting the job because of the following reasons:

1) She simply hates your guts

2) The interviewee is not only a pretty lady, she also has the smarts as well

3) She thinks you are a know-it-all

The Boss From Hell

The job seeker finally nails the job and end up working for Cruella De Vil or Mr. Rude, and he or she lives to drive their employees round the bend! Their employees' slave day and night and do they show appreciation? No! This is what is constantly going through their mind, "I own all their arses!".

These are some of the stuff job seeking and paid salary workers go through. Self employment is not meant for everyone but if paid employment drives you totally nuts and also makes you very unhappy, then you should try tapping into your God given talents. Who knows, you might end up never regretting your actions and making loads of cash in the process. Think of all the bad stuff you'll be avoiding in paid employment, stuff like: office politics, gossiping co-workers, a mean boss and stuffy dress codes.
