For Those Who May Be Confused for the 2008 Election

It is understandable with all the propaganda and campaigning that people may be a bit confused or afraid about how to vote on this election. There are many things that can be said about all sides of politics. So much so, that this article could become a novel explaining all the things that need to be said. Instead, I am going to just keep this as short as sweet as I can.

I cannot tell you how to vote, and I can't expect that very many people will vote because I told them to, but I want to bring some obvious facts that should be considered when you enter that booth in November. We have spent a historically odd eight years in the United States. Suffering from a major attack on the country, we became scared and deceived. To try to hide our weakness, the majority of the population voted the way they felt we would appear stronger. However, fear has the ability to lead to rash decisions.

As much as some may criticize the reactions that were made, it is hard to judge too much since we were not left with very good alternatives. Though, it may have arguably been a slightly better option, there were many logical reasons to not feel confident. Thus, we were left with the options to vote for the greater of less evils, or vote to avoid change. Change scares the average person, and for this reason, we had our "winner".

Now, to avoid getting to far away from the point, lets look at the facts. No matter what, we are looking at a new executive branch. This means that we are forced to choose change. Since the Republican party has failed us, lied to us, and have no real accomplishments, it is almost only fair to give the Democrats a chance to make things better. This theory is based not on the candidates, but the performance of the parties.

If we get more specific and look at Obama, Biden, McCain, and Palin, we can make a few more rational decisions. Obama has an obviously better presentation than McCain, though not important to me, it is a historical factor to every US president. Obama is also much more down to earth. His decisions and reasonings are more logical and obvious that he considers the facts that the American people have different views, and his personal views are not as important as the right of the American people to have their own opinions and decisions. In other words, he may not agree with abortion, but he understands that not every American has the same view.

McCain uses his wartime imprisonment as his experience for presidency. It is the primary topic used for the reason to be elected. Though, it is a commemorative and honorable thing, it does not give any indication to a good president. Yes, he does have more time in politics than Obama, but experience is not necessarily a major issue. For one, it is not like Obama has no experience in politics what-so-ever. For two, this criticism could be neutralized by the fact that his running mate Biden has plenty of time in politics, or it can be turned around to the fact that Palin's experience could be matched with a largely populated high school's principle. They give her credit to all her executive experience, without consideration to fact that this was in Alaska. Making decisions for a population of 8,500 people is no match for that of the entire country.

There is also the a sign of desperation when Republican's criticized a woman president not being strong enough when Hillary Clinton was in the running, but turn around and nominate a women as soon as Hillary was out. Among many other pitiful signs, the true weakness of the Republican party couldn't be more apparent.

When you listen to the speeches and debates, look past the false promises, like the dozens given to us by Bush, look past the wartime propaganda that tries to attack and question the patriotism of the candidates, and though the tear-jerking stories may seem so touching, do not forget that they may not have any value to what the president's agenda needs to be, and vote for the one that will make rational decisions.

Obviously, I have written this article to lean towards Obama. It did not start out with that intention. I felt he was a good candidate from early on because he seemed reasonably understanding and caring to our nation. Speaking from his own heart, and not from his party or advisors, Obama will put the 110% effort and try, which we can all agree that Bush has not done much of anything showing that he cares about being president at all. We need the young ambition of Obama, because in all honesty, four years of president for McCain may be far too much on the old man.

Truthfully, no one can really believe that Obama is the "anti-christ", as some have tagged him, or that he is at fault for raising gas prices, as all the beneficiaries of gas companies are Republican. He is more the "common man" than any candidate we have seen in a long time. He is yet to give any impressions that could cause us to think that he is a phony and a liar just saying things to get elected. In fact, there is no reason that he should lose, and the only reason I wrote this article was just to make sure than people think about the facts when they go out and vote. Everything in the article is complete fact. There is nothing that has been exaggerated about any candidate. It is hard for me to imagine what justification one would have to vote otherwise based on the very truths I have brought up, along with the many that I did not even begin to get into.

I tried to avoid too many controversial issues that could bring people to completely argue my points. I know people out there will not agree with me, and it will be interesting if any of them can produce a valid point against me. I will welcome the attempts, but before any hate mail is started, I should say that certain arguments will not be appropriate. Such as just saying I am stupid, or weak, or whatever one may come up with. These arguments cannot be true as I have two college degrees, and an IQ of 169, proving that by all standards, I am actually a genius. Though, I do not consider myself that smart, I do have faith in my logic, and my strong mindedness. I could also add that I am far from being weak and a coward. So, with all oppositions welcome, let us keep it factual and without blatant attacks on my personal character.

Vote for change, as we must continue our evolution as people and society. You will never know until you give it a chance. Remember our country is based on the freedom of every citizen, and this can only be honored by allowing individuals to make their own decisions as long as they are not directly hurting others and infringing on the rights' of others. This includes the fact that the freedom of religion must be respected and left out of political activity. Most importantly, at least go out and vote and do other productive acts to benefit society. Thank you.
