I could not leave
Had nowhere to go
I loved this man
But hated him so.
Had nowhere to go
I loved this man
But hated him so.
I protected the kids
As best I could do
But the beatings progressed
Hard to hide black and blue.
So I refused to get help
And I regret it so much
That last beating was horrific
He made it the worst; his finishing touch.
So please take care of my kids
I can't protect them anymore
This grave is so lonely and cold
My lesson is a sad metaphor.

Post a CommentAs a former abused wife (first hubby) I got out early when I realized that he'd eventually start on my kid.
A very powerful poem. I grew up w/ wife beating in the family... as a kid saw one female elder bruised up several times
Oh this is so sad.
A hard reminder of a world sickened by sin.
Painful, sad and unfortunately too real these days.
Sad indeed. This is stark, shocking reality.
