Ford Motor Company Announces Plans for 7000 New Jobs

According to a press release Ford Motor company intends to add 4000 jobs for blue collar workers and an additional 2500 salaried jobs in 2011. In 2012, Ford plans on opening up 2,500 factory jobs. New factory workers can expect to earn between 14 and 16 dollars an hour.

The company isn't fooling around, either. They plan on checking out potential engineers as soon as tomorrow and Thursday at the American International Auto Show.

Detroit will benefit from the new jobs but so will eight other cities, Boston, Chicago; Cincinnati; Columbus, Ohio; Milwaukee; Raleigh and Durham, N.C.; and San Jose, Calif. The engineers hired for these cities will be working on electric vehicles.

Ford has really pulled itself up by the bootstraps. They were the only ones not to engage in federal handouts. They cut back to the bare bones and are now showing profits. They sold off Jaguar, Land Rover, and even the Volvo subsidiary. Ford totally reassessed itself and managed to ride out the worst time for the auto industry in decades. They have now managed to post six straight quarterly profits. The stock is now selling at over 18 dollars a share, almost doubling what it was a year ago.

People seem to have gained renewed respect for Ford because of the implemented fiscal frugality and the company's commitment to the US manufacturing industry. The unemployed public is tired of outsourcing and they need a good solid American company to stand behind.

Ford Motor Company seems to fit the bill. The announcement of 7000 new jobs can only stand to enhance Ford's image.

With cutting edge technology, great cars and trucks, and competitive pricing, Ford's future seems to be brighter. The public is weary of stagnated earnings and a slow economy all over the country. While it is unclear exactly how many new job openings will be in Michigan, all jobs will be certainly welcome. Michigan has been one of the hardest hit areas in the country.

People are yearning for days past of apple pie, ball games, and Ford trucks. It has been a slow ride for Ford yet a steady one. The new jobs from Ford are evidence of brighter days ahead.

Did they enter the repair business or what? As many of their cars as break down, they should be able to make a fortune. GRIN. I haven't owned a good Ford since my 1950 Ford.
