The 2010 Ford Taurus SHO will feature a twin-turbo 365 horsepower, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine that will deliver the performance of an eight cylinder giant but give the gasoline consumption of a V-6. The engine will deliver amazing 350 foot pounds of torque to the all-wheel drive machine (source: autoshows.ford.com).
Also new on the 2010 Taurus SHO is the ability to switch from the regular shifter to the steering wheel mounted SelectShift paddles. These paddles allow a driver to manually take control of the car and features "match-rev" which allows for smooth up-shifting and down-shifting of the vehicle (source: autoshows.ford.com).
The 2010 SHO version of the Taurus and the regular version of the Taurus will have subtle differences. The SHO will have double chrome exhaust pipes, a raised spoiler on the deck lid and different parking lamp bezels. The interior will feature the SHO badge and many leather accent such as a leather wrapped steering wheel (source: autoshows.ford.com).
Drivers that want to go all out can opt for a lot of extras with the new SHO. The SHO "Performance Package" will include a SHO that has upgraded brake pads, a shorter 3.16 to 1 final drive ratio for faster acceleration, recalibrated EAPS for greater response, a "sport mode" to compliment the already standard AdvanceTrac electronic stability control and summer compound Goodyear Eagle F1 Performance Tires (source: autoshows.ford.com). All this spells even better performance of an already incredible car.
The most noticeable difference perhaps in this generation of the SHO is the price. The base model will start at $37,995 and go up accordingly. While not for the most meager of pockets, the car should receive much acclaim. The SHO is scheduled for release in the summer of 2009 (source: autoshows.ford.com).
Get ready for more excitement SHO lovers, because the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO is ready to go. More units are sure to fly out of the showrooms and more clubs are bound to be formed. The wait is over, the SHO is back.
