After cleaning the intake manifold and installing the base plate gasket, tighten down the carburetor to the proper specifications. You will need to reconnect all of the electrical switches and vacuum hoses to the Motorcraft 2100-2150 carburetor. On a cold engine, start the vehicle up and check the electric choke system first. Depending on the outside temperature the choke plate should just be touching the back of the carburetor. If it isn't then loosen up the choke housing screws and adjust it as needed.
Once the Jeep is started, the choke pull-off should be pulling the choke plate open just enough to keep the car from dieing out. If it is out of adjustment then either bend the connecting choke rod or adjust it using the screw on the rear of the choke pull off. Check and adjust the fast idle speed adjustments. Once the car is warmed up hit the throttle and you should see the fast idle cam drop to its normal idle speed setting which is generally around 800 RPMs. If it is out of adjustment use your screw driver to turn up or down the basic idle speed. Now you can adjust the air fuel mixture screws which is normally screwed in and turned out 2 ½ turns on both sides.
You are now ready to adjust the a/c idle dash pot. After the vehicle is fully warmed up, normally after 10 to 15 minutes turn on the air conditioning and anything else that could draw down the basic idle speed. Have an assistant put the car in drive and either screw in or screw out the idle dash pot to get your setting. Now your Motorcraft 2100 2150 is set and ready for the test drive. Of course before all of these adjustments to the carburetor you would want to make sure everything else is working such as your correct ignition timing and your tune up procedure is all done.
