Why is it that people dwell on the past? I hear all of the time people complaining about the past weather it is a mistake by them, an injustice done to them, an injustice to their ancestors, a missed opportunity, or whatever. The options are truly as endless as the injustices of this world are. Some people live their entire lives being the, "victim" no matter when, where, or how the injustice occurred.
This is actually a mental condition known as the, "victim", complex. These people that suffer from this complex are truly sad, sad individuals since no matter how much good happens to them, how much beauty they see, how much joy they could experience... they miss all of it to be, "The Victim". Truly they miss the beauty of the forest for the sake of the trees. These are the people that remember getting $5 stolen from them in 1954 yet forget the $5,000,000.00 they won just yesterday.
For those that do this let me tell you something, "The past is the past and it cannot be changed!" There is nothing you can do about the past as it is over and done with and there are no retries. The mistakes of the past are just that mistakes! Learn and grow from them never recommitting the same mistakes again, but most of all leave them alone! The injustices that have been committed to you are also in the past, leave them there. There is nothing you can do about them except learn and grow from them making certain you are never the victim again. The injustices done to your ancestors, they are in the past, not to mention the fact that it was not you! There is no need to rehash things that never even happened to you. As for the missed opportunities..... they were missed!!! No sense in reliving it, learn from it grow from it and don't let another possibility pass you by!
I guess what I am saying is quit complaining and move on. Let the past remain in the past as there is nothing that can be done about it. Until we release the past and let it be we will never have a real future, so I implore you let go of the ghosts and live for the future! The past is the past and there is nothing that can be done about it. We will continue to allow the past to repeat itself if we do not just let it go!!
Well this is all for now as I will leave you with this thought, "There is no better doctor to heal a broken heart than oneself." Have a great day today and a better tomorrow.
