Forever-Glo Cylinder Nite Lites Recalled

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Forever-Glo® Cylinder Nite Lites.

According to American Tack & Hardware Co., Inc., there are approximately 272,000 Forever-Glo® Cylinder Nite Lites involved in this recall. This company is also known as AmerTac and based in Saddle River, New Jersey. The product was manufactured in China.

To date there have been 9 reports of the Forever-Glo® Cylinder Nite Lites burning, melting, smoking or charring. It is believed an electrical short circuit in these recalled night lights may cause the lights to overheat. There is a concern that these night lights could start a fire.

According to the report, the recalled Forever-Glo® Nite Lites are sold in hardware stores as well as home centers and lighting showrooms. The product was available from May 2009 until September 2010, and sold for approximately $5.00. To read the original report visit this website

The recalled products are as pictured with this article. The model number and a manufacturing code that will be found on the back of the recalled lights are SY and 71107. Consumers with Forever-Glo® Cylinder Nite Lites should stop using these immediately.
