Forget the BCS - Coach Mike Gives You the Top Ten 10/24/2010

Disappointment is the Rule in This College Football Season

Mike Felten
On the week after the first BCS rankings, the college football season is setting up to be a disappointing one. If you aren't on probation or being investigated, you already have one loss or you just aren't good enough to satisfy the critics,

Would anyone outside of Auburn and Oregon want to see that matchup in the national championship? Looking forward to Auburn and Alabama.

The Rankings.

Auburn -At least this week, Cam Newton looked dominating and Fairley was the stud on defense. A little one dimensional.

Oregon - Offense and more offense, but expect the wheels to fall off in a big game.

TCU - Solid, solid team.

Alabama - Still the best team in college football, They can beat anyone on this list,

Boise State - They do the best that they can, just not enough marquee games, They could lose to everyone on this list, but Chris Petersen can beat anyone too

Michigan State - A little bit of magic can close a lot of holes,

Utah - A great unbeaten, unknown, Won't get the respect until they start thumping the Pac-12.

Missouri - Unbeaten until next week. Have the promise but, as usual, they just aren't good enough.

LSU - If they could overcome their coach, they'd be an elite program. Recruiting has to suffer.

Stanford - Just the opposite of LSU, Harbaugh is building a giant, They aren't on the threshold of the promised land. Yet.

Top games next week:

Missouri at Nebraska - Big 12 South championship game?

Michigan State at Iowa - the magical versus the cursed.

Baylor at Texas. Baylor is in first place in the Big 12 South and Texas is living a nightmare.

Who is beating Notre Dame this week? Tulsa?Late game OU vs Colorado next week. Our homework will be tardy.
