Setting up the system is very easy to do to get you "Move-ing" quickly. You first plug the controllers into your PlayStation 3 gaming system with USB cables to get them charged. This works with the same cables you already charge your regular controllers with or you can purchase a PlayStation Move charging system which handles two controllers. You then want to set the Eye in the middle of your television, either on top of it or just below it. The pack also comes with an quick instruction CD to show you how to set up the controllers the first time.
The great thing about these controllers is that every time you start a new game or change players, you are able to calibrate the controller. You will see a box on the television that you stand centered in and it will ask you to raise the controller, place it at your side and at the center of your waist. This will make sure that the games are set up accurately for each individual to play. You will be quite impressed by the accuracy
When the games began, I didn't want to stop. A couple rounds of Table Tennis and I was hooked and working up a sweat. We have a regulation size table in the garage and play often when the weather permits. Now I can get the same fun and exercise even when the weather doesn't permit. The reality of the movements your performing is so precise that when you attempt to put a top spin on the ping pong ball, if you hit it right, you got it. Once we were warmed up and saw how the games work, we moved on to Gladiator Duel and in attempting to annihilate one another, we worked up quite a sweat. Even after a few rounds of Archery, I was amazed at how much I felt it in my upper arms and my muscles were sore the next day. I mostly wanted these controllers in order to get the boxing game which I understand will be available in early November. I'm am looking forward to playing off a few pounds.
We did not purchase the EyePet game, but did try the demo out. I must say it was pretty awesome and will be a great way for the kids to play together, but with the sounds and realistic interaction, my real pet, a Cocker Spaniel, was a little annoyed that I was playing with another "animal." It was fun to bathe the EyePet, which looks like an adorable mix of puppy and capuchin monkey. I got a real kick when I drew an airplane body and propeller, my "pet" then drew the same one (as poorly as it came out since I can't really draw) and then watch the plane drawing turn to wood and assemble itself so you can send your on a wild ride. Loads of fun! I'm off now to kick the hubby's butt at Disc Golf once again.
