Forget About Gucci Mane's New Ice Cream Tattoo and Whip Up Some of These Snow Cream Recipes that Will Knock Your Socks Off
How About Mint Snow Cream, a Kahlua Slammer, or a Snow F**k Cream Recipe?
I have to be honest with you. My parents never made snow cream when I was a kid. I guess I was missing out. The big thing for us to do after a storm was to hurry up outside, search for the cleanest snow, and then just eat it. And we all know, the most important part was to make sure you found snow that was pure white without those nasty black speckles or tinges of yellow. Cause then you were eating pee snow, which I don't think tastes that eventful. And God forbid if the snow had brown spots in, then you knew what that was right?
This year along 2011 many of us have witnessed massive storms and blizzards and first thought that comes to mind is "Ugh snow again." Well, don't think that way have fun instead. Snow cream recipes are great for the whole family to enjoy. Knowing how popular this trend has become I wanted to do a little bit of experience myself to see what snow recipes I can come up with. I love being creative and coming up with new ideas, it must be the beautician in me.
After searching all over online I was really getting tired of seeing the same old snow cream recipe, which was milk, salt, sugar, vanilla and snow. Or egg, sugar, vanilla, cream and snow. Can't these people be any more creative? Yes, we are only talking about snow, but C'mon there are other ways here to make the snow more festive and tastier, don't you think? Here's my thoughts on this snowy situation:
Bowl Of Chocolate Pudding Snow With Sprinkles
The most important ingredient here is CLEAN SNOW. How do I get clean snow? When it starts to snow place a bucket outside and collect as much as possible. PLEASE make sure you place the bucket in a safe area where no animal can get at it or urinate in it.
Now the fun part begins. You need your favorite brand of instant pudding, 10 cups of snow, 2 teaspoons of vanilla, 2 1/2 cups of milk, 2 cups of sugar.
In a bowl place the pudding. Then add your WARM milk to it. Mix this up well until you have a nice consistency. Now add your vanilla. Slowly place the sugar in one cup at a time and mix. Drop the snow in 2 cups at a time, since most big measuring cups come in 2 cups. I think anyway. After each time mix well. Once all the snow is placed into the bowl, give it one more good stir and decorate with colored sprinkles, or chocolate sprinkles. Add a cherry on top and voila, you now have one awesome snow cream recipe.
Mint Snow Chocolate Chip
One of my favorite flavors in ice cream is mint chocolate chip, so why not add it to the snow cream?
Use the same method mentioned above except eliminate the pudding and the vanilla extract and use mint extract. Then once all the snow is mixed place some yummy Andes Mint candies on top along with some chocolate chip morsels. Now were talking huh?
Strawberry Snow Cream With Fruit
My second favorite flavor is strawberry when it comes to ice cream. Follow the same instructions mentioned above but eliminate the pudding, and add fresh strawberries, make the snow pink using food coloring, pink sprinkles on top, and a dollop of Reddi wip.
Ok now that the kids have some fun recipe ideas, what about us adults? How about some Alcoholic snow cream recipes? Can it be done? Well, of course it can. Use your imagination. You can make eggnog snow cream, rum creams, a Bailey's Irish snow cream, a Kahlua Slammer which I just thought of, or you can even make cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper snow cream. I love Dr. Pepper, this is my ultimate favorite soda, so why not?
The last recipe idea I have is called a Snow F**k. No I'm not kidding you. Ever have a drink called a Mud F**k? Well, if you haven't you should try. It is made using Hershey chocolate syrup, Dr. Pepper of course, cold milk, and a shot of Absolut. You can also substitute using Grey Goose.
Kahlua Slammer
You will need 2-3 cups of sugar, 2-3 cups of water, 10 tablespoons of instant coffee, 1 1/2 cups of Absolut and 2 1/2 cups of pure vanilla. Now you really think I knew this recipe without any help? Of course not I called my bartender friend to see how to make homemade Kahlua. Then went from there. On with the recipe.
Place all ingredients together in a large pot. Bring to a slight boil and simmer for 20 minutes. While your allowing the liquid to cool down mix the snow recipe.
Take your snow, vanilla, milk, and sugar and place into a bowl. Mix up well. Now add the Kalua mixture. Mix and enjoy this delightful snow cream slammer.
Snow F**k Snow Cream Recipe
You need Hershey syrup, Dr. Pepper, cold milk, vodka, CLEAN SNOW, sugar, and some vanilla.
First place the snow in. Then add your milk, sugar, and vanilla. Mix up well. Now add your soda, vodka, and pour the chocolate syrup on top. Voila, enjoy.
Yes if anyone is wondering "Doesn't the liquor lower the temperature per say with the snow? Yes, it does so these drinks need to be made and served right away. Take your snow cream recipes to the next level.
