Forget Valentine's Day

Sonya Simpkins
Valentine's Day is upon us again

And I can't remember when

I ever enjoyed the holiday

That was designed to prey

On those who cannot express

Or to their love confess

How they really feel

Without a Hallmark card and candy deal

Why do we need a holiday, anyway?

When you have every day

To say how you feel

To a person who is real

Don't wait until the day comes around

Throw that card on the ground

Turn to your love and simply say

I love you, each and every day.
