Forgive-N-Forgiven

Arkay Evans
You didn't come to hit a nerve
unless you want just how it feels,
Cuz there's a callous in my heart
that used to answer to your squeals,

And thunder that still rumbles in my head
from when my flesh was crushed
beneath your naggin' wheels,
But you and I,
Forgive-n-Forgiven,

So I can taste the sugar of God
as heaven's butter soothes my heels,
For now I know the human number,
Yes, I know the game it deals,

And human heat, like yeast,
I rise above becoming
another story of the street,
I keep my spirit free-n-clear
and breathe before I speak,
So when heaven's angels come to call,
the ooooh's and ahhhhh's are all I hear.
