It seems that 2010 has held no shortage of celebrity chaos. More recently adding to that list, R&B singer and former Dancing With The Stars Contestant Mario, who is also known for such hits as "Just A Friend" and his appearances in Step Up and Freedom Writers was arrested early on October 1, 2010 for allegedly attacking his mother for the second time within a mere week.

According to his mother, Shawntia Hardaway, Mario Barrett was taken into custody after she placed a phone call to local police stating that she feared for her safety. Earlier this week on Monday, Mario was in the middle of another alleged incident with his mother that had involved him pushing her. More recently, his alleged violence is claimed to have reached a new peak. Officials who are working on the case have stated that on Friday, Mario allegedly shoved his mother which caused her to hit her head. Mario then became verbally abusive towards Hardaway and she proceeded to phone police, at which time officers responded to the household.

Booked on second-degree charges of misdemeanor assault, the R&B star was released from the Baltimore Police Department only after posting the $50,000 bail that was required. Although it is unclear what events led up to the alleged assault, it is know that early in 2005 Mario had taken time away from his career in order to focus on helping his mother into a rehabilitation program to kick a bad drug habit. As for now, Mario isn't getting very many kudos points from fans, although the outcome of the case will not be revealed until the for DWTS contestant makes his first appearance in court on November 9, 2010.
