Former NYT Editor Howell Raines Accuses Fox News of Sabotaging Obamacare, Waging Jihad on Obama

Former NYT editor Howell Raines accuses Fox News of sabotaging Obamacare and waging Jihad on Obama's administration in a new op-ed slated to appear in the Washington Post this Sunday. Raines is the disgraced, former editor of the NYT who ran the yellow journalism rag for a very short time, from 2001 until 2003, when the laughable scandal of the affirmative-action plagiarist, Jayson Blair, forced him to resign. Ironically, Raines' accusations against Fox News make no sense because as anyone who watches Fox News will tell you, the channel boasts its fair share of liberal and Democrat commentators-Alan Colmes, Bob Beckel, Kirsten Powers, Ellis Henican, and Joe Trippi, just to name a handful-who have all been on the air there 24/7 for the past year in support of Obamacare! Like all liberals, Raines is in vain trying to gin up the dying ranks of the mainstream media by fomenting phony animosity against Fox News.

Raines' accusation is based in part on the hardcore, liberal fantasy/embedded belief that Fox News somehow is "biased" or anything other than fair and balanced, which is actually what it is as anyone who watches can tell you faithfully. This delusion of Raines-let's call it Fox News Derangement Syndrome or FNDS for short-is discreditable for another reason. The paper for which Raines was editor for two, unimpressive years currently boasts a crushing imbalance of 10 liberal columnists versus one, lonely, tiny, isolated conservative voice. And this liberal elitist who looks down his nose at us dares complain about Fox News? Fox News, the arbiter of fairness and balance?! With such a deluded view of reality, it's no wonder that he couldn't even spot a plagiarist working right under his nose back in 2003!

If Raines is suffering from such massive hallucination, then why, oh why, is he even launching such a paranoid and blatantly false charge against Fox News? The likely answer-apart from sheer ideology-would have to be...jealousy! Yup, the old green-eyed monster itself! As Bill O'Reilly and guest Bernie Goldberg discussed on the opening segment of the Factor, former liberal big shots like Raines are now...just...jealous. Jealous of all the rising, seemingly unstoppable success of Fox News-especially in these dark times when no other media outfit reports honestly or critically about Obama and his policies-while his little "empire" when he was head honcho at the NYT has now gone "poof!" and disappeared into thin air.

It's this sort of fanatically liberal ideology displayed by Raines for all the world to see in a lunatic op-ed that confirms why liberals are so derisively dismissed and currently make up only about 20% of Americans, if that! Obamacare is certainly not on its deathbed because Fox News has succeeded in brainwashing a majority of Americans...no! Obamacare is failing and failing brutally because, as polls will tell you, a majority of Americans correctly thinks Obamacare is too costly, too intrusive, and raises taxes while doing nothing for deficits at all (unless you count increasing the already monstrous deficits drastically!).

As for the NYT itself, that yellow journalism rag-which among its "achievements" over the past few years counts revealing classified, anti-terror programs and rendering them useless-is properly losing money, losing jobs and losing influence in the country as Fox News and the alternative media of the internet continue gaining strength. Additionally, as Americans become more educated about the hardcore lying of a definite, liberal slant in the media, they are rejecting ultra-biased rags like the Times in favor of more balance and honesty in reporting. Which is precisely why Fox News, just as one example, has seen its ratings grow just over the past year while committed, liberal propagandists like MSNBC and CNN are getting hammered in the ratings.

I no longer have any respect for the mainstream media. There are people who on FOX who are not balanced like Sean-- but then his is an opinion show--but O Reilly really tries to be balanced.
