A Tribute to John Wooden, a Great Christian Man
John Wooden died of natural causes at the ripe old age of 99. Wooden was a great basketball coach. He won ten national championships with UCLA. John Wooden was nominated to the Basketball Hall Of Fame as both a coach and a player. John Wooden is known (all over the world) for his accomplishments. He was a great man. His "Woodenisms" are used by many people to this day.

John Wooden was a great man; he was liked by many people. You will hear this in the news constantly. What people fail to tell you is John Wooden was a very religious man. He loved God. He lived for God. The example John Wooden set, was an example of how a Christian person should live his/her life. John Wooden was not Jesus. He was a man who tried to follow the footsteps of Jesus the best way he knew how. I will not remember John Wooden for his four 30-0 seasons. I was not there to enjoy UCLA's success under John Wooden. I will not remember John Wooden for the ten national championships he won with UCLA. I love sports, but sports are not as important as people make sports out to be. I will remember John Wooden for his commitment to God. I will remember John Wooden for the relationships he had with his players. I will remember John Wooden for his commitment to excellence the entirety of his life.
John Wooden died of natural causes at the ripe old age of 99. He will be missed by many people. He was a great man among men. Most of all, John Wooden was a Christian who lived for his God. John Wooden was a hero. He is somebody we would want our children to mimic. God bless you, John Wooden.
