Former Vice President Richard Dick Cheney, 69, has suffered another healthscare and was admitted to Friday, June 25. He consulted his doctors Friday after "experiencingdiscomfort." His doctors advised that he be admitted to the hospital for moretesting.

Republican leader Cheney has a long history of battling heart disease. He had a mild heart attack in February, 2010. At that time, he had a stress test, as well as a heart catheterization. Two years prior, in 2008, Cheney had to have electric shock to restore the normal rhythm to his heart. It was the second time in under a year that Cheney had to be treated for an abnormal heart rhythm. In 2001, he had a type of pacemaker implanted, and in 1988 he had bypass surgery.

Cheney, a staunch opponent of the Obama administration, is regarded as one of the most powerful vice presidents to have served in the office. He was an aggressive backer of the war on terror, helping to expand presidential war powers. One of those presidential powers was the ability to detain terrorism suspects indefinitely without charging them.

Cheney is expected to remain in the hospital through the weekend. The heart attack Cheney had in February, 2010, is his fifth since age 37.
